RUSSELL GARTNER

The Actor's Voice Studio is the private voice studio of Russell Gartner, and the home of his video series "The Actor's Voice Conversations" started as a "pandemic project" in the Spring of 2020. 

 

He is an active professional singer, voice teacher, conductor, and musical director based in North East, OH and has been teaching, conducting choirs, and  musical directing for the stage throughout the midwest and midatlantic regions for the past two decades. Current and former students can be found attending top university music and theater programs and on stages around the country. 

 

As a performer, Russell has several concert, musical theater, and operatic roles to his credit and has appeared with numerous companies on stages in OH, MD, DE, VA, NJ, NY, PA, and Washington DC. 

 

Russ holds a BM from Heidelberg University in Music Education and an MM in Vocal Performance from Bowling Green State University. He has taught on the faculties of multiple collegiate institutions and has maintained private voice studios in OH, MD, and NJ. He is the Director of both the Adult Chancel Choir and  School Cantorum Chamber Choir at Faith United Methodist Church in North Canton and most recently served as Visiting Assistant Professor, Director of Choral Activities, and Interim Department Chair at Malone University from 2023-2025. Prior to that Gartner was an Assistant Professor and  and Program Chair of Music Department at Rowan College at Burlington County in Mount Laurel, NJ.
